Safety dampers

Safety dampers

The ACE Controls series of safety dampers are designed to provide protection during emergency stops or as end-of-travel buffers. These dampers effectively reduce damage to machinery and ensure personnel safety in cases of uncontrolled movement or failure. They come in various types tailored to meet different requirements for energy absorption, frequency of use, and environmental conditions.

Tubus – robust and versatile emergency stop damper

The Tubus series is ideal for applications requiring more frequent damping at end positions where exact stopping points are not critical but high quality and durability are essential. Made from robust polyester elastomer, Tubus withstands harsh environments, including exposure to UV light, water, and temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +90 °C. It exhibits some rebound as it does not absorb all energy on initial impact, which can be advantageous in certain applications. Additionally, Tubus is easy to install with a single external thread, saving time and simplifying mounting.

Safety dampers – simple, maintenance-free single-use devices

These safety dampers are made of resilient co-polyester elastomer, a plastic material designed to perform in extreme conditions where other materials fail. They absorb energy through deformation and provide a consistent reaction force for safe and effective deceleration. Like crash dampers, they are completely maintenance-free but require replacement after an impact. This type of damper offers an affordable and reliable option for safety applications needing single-use protection.

Crash dampers – efficient energy absorption for emergency situations

Crash dampers are designed for applications with a low risk of failure but a high risk of damage to people or equipment. They are compact yet offer very high energy absorption relative to their size. With simple installation using a single external thread, they are user-friendly. Upon impact, these dampers absorb energy through deformation with a consistent reaction force, providing optimal deceleration. Their machined cylinder tubes ensure smooth and predictable damping behavior. Completely maintenance-free, crash dampers are single-use and must be replaced after impact. They are well suited for linear-guided machinery such as overhead cranes, gantry cranes, machine tools, and many other electromechanical applications.
