At the base of a sandwich manifold stack, a sub plate (also called mounting plate) is required. This plate serves as the foundation to assemble and connect multiple hydraulic functions into a compact unit. Sub plates come in various designs, available as single stations or multi-station blocks that can hold multiple functions. Common sizes include NG6 (ISO/CETOP 03), NG10 (ISO/CETOP 05), NG16 (ISO/CETOP 07), and NG25 (ISO/CETOP 08). Multi-station blocks can accommodate up to 10 stations, enabling complex and flexible hydraulic solutions. These sub plates are designed for connection either to the side or downward, depending on the system layout and requirements. They often feature ready-made ports for easy installation of pressure gauges or other measuring instruments, simplifying monitoring and maintenance.
Standard sub plates and multi-station blocks are compatible with sandwich manifolds from all manufacturers and are available in the common sizes NG6, NG10, NG16, and NG25. To extend functionality, bolt-on blocks can be mounted on the manifold’s end face to add features such as pressure relief. Multi-station blocks without cavities can have up to 10 stations, making it easy to create customized solutions.
Sub plates with integrated cavities
For specific functions requiring dedicated valves or components, sub plates with integrated cavities are available. These are also compatible with sandwich manifolds from any manufacturer and come in the same standard sizes (NG6, NG10, NG16, NG25). Integrated cavities allow direct installation of components like pressure relief or pressure reducing valves within the sub plate itself, simplifying installation and reducing the need for external parts.
