Stepless speed control of hydraulic winches using Rexroth MCR radial piston motor and Sun Hydraulics components

MCR Motors are available in various sizes and displacements, making them ideal for a wide range of vehicle applications such as forklifts or agricultural and forestry machinery.

The MCR radial piston motor is particularly well suited for winch applications.

Technical Advantage for Winch Drum Control with Rexroth MCR

The MCR radial piston motor offers a number of technical advantages for controlling winch drums.

  • Easy installation: Integrated flange with wheel bolts

  • No gearbox required: Motor can be mounted directly on the drum

  • Drum freewheeling: Drain line can be pressurized to allow full freewheeling of the drum, e.g. when pulling out wire rope

  • Displacement change: Option to switch displacement for speed variation

  • High torque: Perfect for demanding applications

  • Mechanical brake: Available as an option

Radial Piston Motor MCR and Sun Hydraulics FNUC and CABG

With the new proportional valve FNUC from Sun Hydraulics and the vent-to-air load holding valve CABG, variable drum speed can be effectively controlled.
FNUC is a 4/3 directional control valve, and the load holding valve CABG is insensitive to back pressure generated by the proportional valve.
CABG ensures safe and smooth operation of the winch. See diagram above.
