Flow dividing, combining, and synchronization

SUN Hydraulics flow dividers are used to split or combine flows.

They are used, for example, when you have a large flow that you want to distribute to multiple cylinders or motors.

Applications for flow dividers

Flow dividers are commonly used where there are two or more cylinders for lifting, lowering, or extending platforms, beds, ramps, gangways, fork positioners, implements, etc. They are also used with motors for wheel drive on smaller vehicles.

Hydraulic flow dividers with synchronization and high precision

Sun Hydraulics offers several models of flow dividers that synchronize cylinders at the end position with varying degrees of accuracy. When flow dividers are used with cylinders, models that also combine and return the return flow are generally suitable. Flow dividers designed for one-way flow are typically used together with motors.

Material and design of manifolds for flow division

Multiple flow dividers can be combined to achieve one inlet and several outlets. We have gathered some of these in the valve manifolds below. There are also ready-made combinations with other functions, such as load-holding and pressure relief functions.

Available for flows from 6 l/min up to 270 l/min and pressures up to 350 bar.

Both line-mounted and sandwich-mounted versions are available. Line-mounted up to SAE 1 ½” flange, and sandwich-mounted up to NG10. The sandwich solution is described under sandwich special valves.

All manifolds are available in aluminum (3000 psi / 210 bar) or steel (5000 psi / 350 bar) and can be supplied with surface treatment.
