2 ports, electro-proportional relief valve – pilot capacity, high pressure setting with no command
Pressure relief valves are often used as safety valves to ensure that the pressure does not exceed a predetermined value. When combined with a solenoid, the valve can be electrically controlled. It can function as a simple on/off valve or be used for proportional control, which provides more precise regulation of the pressure.

To enable electric control, the pressure relief valve is combined with a solenoid coil. Solenoid coils from Sun Hydraulics are available in various models with different connector types and voltage options, providing high flexibility for adaptation to different applications. The solenoids are compatible with both on/off functions and proportional control. For proportional control, the XMD controller is recommended, which can be easily configured via a mobile app or computer software.
An on/off solenoid pressure relief valve operates by fully opening or closing the valve based on an electrical signal. When the valve is closed, it prevents the pressure flow from exceeding the predetermined maximum value, and when the valve is open, the pressure is allowed to pass freely until it reaches the set limit. This type of valve is simple and efficient in applications where fine pressure adjustments are not required, but where the focus is on quickly stopping the flow when the pressure exceeds a certain value.
A proportional solenoid pressure relief valve allows for more precise and continuous adjustment of pressure. In this valve, the opening is gradually regulated in proportion to the electrical control signal, enabling fine-tuning and maintaining a specific pressure within a more precise range. Proportional valves are used in systems where dynamic and accurate pressure regulation is required, such as in applications that demand continuous adjustments based on changing working conditions.
