Hand operated valves provide a simple and reliable way to manually control flow direction or shut-off in a hydraulic system. These valves are operated via a lever that mechanically shifts the valve spool or ball, thereby controlling how and where the hydraulic oil flows. They are especially useful in systems where electrical control is not necessary or feasible, and where the operator needs direct, physical control over the function. Manual valves are used in a wide range of applications, from industrial to marine, often for starting, stopping, or switching between different flow paths in a robust and intuitive manner.

One of the major advantages of manual valves is that they give the operator full control over the hydraulic system’s operation in real time. This makes them ideal in situations requiring quick response or manual fine-tuning—such as during test runs, maintenance or in environments without electrical power. The tactile feel of the lever also makes it easy to see and feel the valve’s current position, contributing to safe and precise operation.
Manual valves are designed to withstand harsh environments and prolonged use without complicated maintenance. Their mechanical construction makes them very reliable and easy to repair if needed, which helps minimize downtime and keeps operating costs low.
There is a wide range of line-mounted ball valves for shut-off or switching between two functions. These valves offer simple and reliable operation and are also available in versions suited for marine environments, with materials and seals adapted to resist moisture, salt, and corrosion.
For CETOP-mounted systems, manual directional valves can be mounted directly onto valve plates according to standards such as NG6 (ISO/CETOP 03), NG10 (ISO/CETOP 05), NG16 (ISO/CETOP 07), and NG25 (ISO/CETOP 08). These models are also available in marine versions for use in particularly demanding environments, such as offshore or shipboard applications.
